Daytona, FL - Ducati's presence has become a fixture at Daytona and 2007 will not disappoint. Ducati North America is back again for the 2007 AMA Championship series opener with 4 days devoted to celebrating Ducati's worldwide culture and American roadracing heritage. From Wednesday, March 7 through Saturday, March 10, Ducati will transform the area located directly beneath Daytona Speedway's Nextel Tower Grandstand into "Ducati Village." Featuring Ducati-only parking, hospitality, live TV feeds, and the 2007 Ducati model range, the Village is a Ducatisti paradise.
On Friday, March 9, Ducati Village provides non-stop entertainment as Ducati North America and Ducati.Net present DucatiDayDaytona (DDD). DDD 2007 features the Concorso DucatiDayDaytona, the longest running Ducati-only motorcycle concours in North America, two rounds of the famously rousing Ducati North America Fashion Show, and much more.
2007 is an especially significant year for Ducati at Daytona as it marks the 30th anniversary of Cook Neilson and Phil Schilling's historic 1977 Daytona Superbike win. To commemorate this occasion, Cook Neilson and Phil Schilling will return to the Speedway to meet fans and celebrate their legendary Ducati 750 SS, "Old Blue."
Special guests also include the Senior Designer of the new 1098 Superbike, Gianandrea Fabbro. Gianandrea is making a special trip from Italy to attend DDD and all are welcome to attend his presentation chronicling the development of the 1098. Gianandrea will remain at the event for the rest of the day to greet fans, answer questions, and sign autographs.
